Backrooms
About the film
Clark, owner of a struggling furniture store, has started living in his shop amid a failing marriage. One night, an electricity issue leads him to the basement, where he discovers a mysterious gap in the wall that leads him to the ‘backrooms’ - a vast and ominous labyrinth of seemingly empty rooms. When Clark and some staff disappear while investigating the liminal space, Clark’s therapist Mary enters the mysterious backrooms in a bid to find her patient.
This debut feature from young filmmaker Kane Parsons - adapting his own hit web series - takes a viral online horror premise and translates it into a compellingly eerie feature. With striking imagery, effects and performances, this marks the emergence of a confident new horror filmmaker.

“Backrooms progressively raises its game towards the big finish with jump scares, squirm scares and tiny shiver scares. There is real fascination in exploring this vast, invisible city state of fear.” ★★★★★
