Barbara Scully’s brand-new One-Woman Show is called ‘Because I’m Worth It. This follows the success of her first One Woman Show, Older Bolder Wiser.

‘Because I’m Worth It’ is once again on the theme of getting older but with a different focus. Like ‘Older, Bolder, Wiser’ it is a combination of stand-up comedy and story telling. This time Barbara spins tales of how, now that she is in her sixties, she is now finally able to put herself front and centre of her life as she realises that she is ‘bloody well worth it’.”

So there are some things she will no longer do – such as flying with a certain budget airline and there are things that she insists on doing now, because she is worth it and that is where she comes unstuck at times, with hilarious results. Her stories of pampering herself in Spas abroad are hysterical.

Her shows, although clearly aimed mainly at women, have been a hit with the men who have attended too. “I have had men at all my shows, and they laughed and learned lots along the way.” Barbara feels that her unique selling point is that she is serving an audience who are not well served by stand up comedy. She says, “I want my audience to go home having had a good laugh and feeling much better about getting older than they did when they arrived.”
