Christmas Island at Hidden Valley Resort in Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow, runs from 28 November to 22 December 2026. The visit takes in a ride on the North Pole Express train, the Fairy Forest, Mrs Claus and her elves and a houseboat journey, ending with a private Santa visit for each family booking. Every child receives a present from Santa, and little tokens from the elves along the way.

Most families spend about two hours there; arrive at least 30 minutes before your session for parking, check-in and boarding. Food, crafts and professional photos cost extra. On Wednesdays and Thursdays in December, the Winter Downhill Tubing is included for everyone.

  • Plus a €5.95 booking fee per transaction

The train can't carry wheelchairs, but there is bridge access; only small collapsible buggies can be brought. Sales are final, but you can change your date up to 72 hours ahead.
