Richard Berengarten’s poem Tree is a symphonic hymn to a tree in all its aspects, drawing on its sacred and central place in the world’s mythology, history and religion. Commissioned by IMRAM in 2020, Gabriel Rosenstock’s Irish language translation of the poem Crann was first presented as a film directed by Laura Hilliard.
This expanded version of Crann Mór for nine voices, percussion and film sees the upper voices of Chamber Choir Ireland and conductor David Young join the original vocal trio in a new live staging, directed by Adrian Dunbar.
