Dr David Coleman - Ready for Anything
Date: Tue 27 Oct – Wed 28 Oct
Location: Draíocht Blanchardstown, Blanchardstown

Long ago, crows circled high over campfires, listening to the stories of humans being carried in the air.
Created by artist Paula Mongey and harpist Mary Louise O'Donnell, Crow's Books is a sensory storytelling experience rooted in Irish folklore, where stories are felt, seen and heard through live harp music, shadow play and movement. Children are invited to mix their own natural inks and make their very own Crow's Book, so come dressed for the occasion.
Come as you are. Every child welcome. Only curiosity required.

Crow's Books takes its name from a piece of folklore Paula Mongey grew up with in Co Louth, the belief that pine cones are the books of crows.
Developed as part of Creative Ireland and South Dublin County Council's Schools Cultural Award 2025–2026, the project brought artist Paula Mongey and harpist Mary Louise O'Donnell together with twelve Transition Year students at Libermann Spiritan School, a newly opened special school in Dublin finding its creative voice.
Using folklore and nature as their starting point, students gathered soil and berries, made their own inks and brushes from twigs and herbs, played harp, and shared stories.
Crow's Books is a reminder that art can be made from the simplest things.
