Two dynamic ensemble performances take to the main stage. #Mil4Millie from ROOTS Youth Theatre, and Deirdre Murphy’s Capitalism: The Musical, tackle questions of power, connection, resistance and transformation. What is the world we live in and what is the world we hope to create?

#Mil4Millie

Follow Millie, a teenager navigating the all consuming world of social media. A hunger for online fame prompts Millie to turn to her AI chatbot in search of advice on gaining 1 million followers. What starts as an innocent chat quickly spirals into increasingly personal exchanges. With digital boundaries blurring, Millie becomes drawn towards their AI for emotional support and validation, threatening isolation from their real life connections.

#Mil4Millie confronts urgent questions around the idealisation of online fame, AI regulation and the growing influence of artificial companionship. The piece asks what happens when a generation raised online begins turning to AI not just for answers, but to fulfil deep human needs?
