Tour: The Saints and Scholars of Ireland
Date: Tue 13 Oct – Thu 31 Dec
Location: National Museum of Ireland, Kildare Street, Dublin 2
Dublin Rock’n’Roll Walk is a volunteer-led community walking tour through the city’s rock’n’roll and musical heritage. From the 1960s showbands to contemporary rock, it takes you through the streets, stories and places connected to Dublin’s musical history: the bands, artists and female acts who made their mark on the city, and the places where they lived, performed, wrote songs and made music history.
In the organisers’ words, it is “the Dublin you won’t find on an ordinary sightseeing tour”. Complete the walk and become an Urban Music Explorer, with a special prize waiting at the end.
Meeting point: Pret A Manger on Harcourt Street, right beside the Harcourt Luas stop.
Free to join: there is no ticket and no set price. Donations are welcome but entirely optional, and everyone is welcome: locals, visitors, music lovers and anyone curious about Dublin’s cultural history. The walk takes about 90 minutes to 2 hours.
Walks at other times can be arranged on request (booking essential): weekday evenings from 5.30pm, or at weekends at a time that suits you. See dublinrocknrollwalk.ie.
