About the film

1985, the Paris suburbs. 13-year-old Vincent lives in an apartment block with his parents Yves and Sandrine and older brother Amaud. Yves has recently lost his job and is trying to hide the fact from his family. Vincent and his friends, meanwhile, are experiencing the highs and lows of early adolescence. When assigned to a school project with his classmate Anne-Karine, Vincent is determined to win her over.

The directors of the hit comedy-drama 'The Intouchables' return with this funny and charming study of family life. It is a lovingly nostalgic crowd-pleaser that captures a particular French sensibility alongside universal truths about growing up. It also boasts an impressively rich soundtrack of 80s hits, including the titular Imagination classic.

‘“[It has] a warm, good-natured atmosphere, carried by a very strong cast.’

Fabien Lemercier, Cineuropa

‘The film captures the era with so much detail... It’s both very specific, with all the social and cultural context, and at the same time completely universal.’

Manon Kerjean, France 24
