About the show
La Milonga is a unique theatre play and tango performance inspired by the people who make up the world of social tango. Set in Ireland, the story takes place during a single evening at a milonga – a social gathering where people come together to dance tango. Through an entertaining and heartfelt glimpse into a world where ordinary people find connection, belonging and refuge through music and dance after a long day. As the evening unfolds, their individual stories gradually come together on the dance floor celebrating friendship, community and the joy of dancing.
La Milonga offers audiences an authentic glimpse into a vibrant community where people come together through the embrace of tango, filled with live music, dance, humour and emotion, audiences are invited to spend an evening in a world where strangers meet, stories unfold and every dance begins with an embrace.
