As Ireland marks 30 years since the closure of its last Magdalene Laundry, Louise Brangan sits down with historian Leanne McCormick to discuss her book, The Fallen which brings together the stories of women who experienced Ireland’s Magdalene Laundries and Mother and Baby Homes. Taking place just one week before the anniversary of the final Laundry’s closure at Seán McDermott Street, this conversation will explore the lives at the heart of The Fallen, the institutions that confined them and why these stories still need to be heard.
