An exclusive opportunity to listen to previously unheard material by Philip Lynott, giving a glimpse into his creative process by examining songwriting and recording at different stages of his career.

Included in the presentation will be a number of fascinating four-track home studio recordings made by Philip consisting of instrumental versions of some of the songs that went on to become leading tracks on the Jailbreak album that broke Thin Lizzy around the world.  
 
There will also be a chance to listen to 24 track studio recordings of three new songs which remain unreleased including one that reveals Philip in an experimental mode, exploring the electro sounds influencing early 80s New York rap and his long favoured spoken word style vocal that he utilized across his career particularly on his solo records, The Phil Lynott Album and Solo In Soho.

Finally, there will be a deep dig in the crates to reveal early rough demos of songs that Philip was co-writing in the early 1980s with Norman Washington, aka Junior Giscombe, who was one of the first English R&B artist to have success all over the world, including the USA, with his hit single, Mama Used To Say. Philip and Junior at that time were working on at least three songs together, and these recordings provide hints of what might have emerged had their collaboration continued.

Producer Pat Neary and artist manager Fachtna O’Ceallaigh will jointly host this playback event.

Fachtna O’Ceallaigh is a veteran manager of artists such as Sinead O’Connor, Boomtown Rats, Bananarama, Donal Lunny, Clannad to name a few, sometime producer (Leslie Winer), and Dublin GAA supporter.

Pat Neary is a Dubin-born and Galway-based music producer, publisher, manager, curator and lifelong Bohemians fan.
