Rathwood Santa Train 2026

Rathwood Santa Train 2026

About the event

The Rathwood Christmas Experience, its Santa Train, is back for 2026 at Rathwood in Rath, Tullow, on the Carlow-Wicklow border, about an hour from Dublin.

The train takes you through the forest to the Big Top for a festive show from the team behind The Late Late Toy Show, with a hot chocolate for every child. Meet Santa's reindeer, join the elves in the Toy Workshop, where every child receives a present, then visit Santa in his own home.

Dates: 28–29 November; 5–6, 11–13 and 18–24 December 2026. Trains leave at timed intervals, generally 45 minutes apart, and times vary by day, with a shorter programme on Christmas Eve.

Tickets (prices vary by date; check the booking calendar)

  • Adults: €14.95 to €20.95
  • Children: €21.95 to €27.95
  • Babies: €14.95 to €18.95

Parking is free, and there are cafés, toilets and baby changing on site. Reindeer food and the funfair are optional extras.
