Soundcheck Lizzy ( Musical Spectacular )

About the show

A ROCK THEATRE SPECTACULAR! THE STORY 1983.
An empty venue. Three hours late for a Thin Lizzy soundcheck, Philip Lynott arrives to find only one person waiting – Jimmy, his loyal roadie, confidant and keeper of home truths. What follows is an intimate, unflinching portrait of the boy from Crumlin who became one of rock’s greatest icons. It’s the week Philip disbanded Thin Lizzy. The glory years of Jailbreak and Live and Dangerous are behind him. Grand Slam is just an idea. Alone on stage Phil finally talks about his rock career, Crumlin and growing up as one of the only Black kids in 1960s Dublin, his brotherhood with Brian Downey, Eric Bell and Gary Moore, fatherhood, and the heavy price of fame. This is not a tribute act. This is Philo, unplugged – funny, raw, poetic, vulnerable. A soundcheck that becomes a life check.
