Celebrate Halloween through song, story and disguise with traditional singer Aileen Lambert. Learn Taypot Jack, an original song inspired by Ireland’s rich Halloween customs. Discover why children dressed in old clothes, meet mysterious characters like the Púca, Willie the Wisp and the Bawman, and explore the folklore of the season through singing, games and imagination. Learn about old traditions including guising, carving turnips, feasting on colcannon and wandering spirits. Try a traditional divination game to glimpse your future! A lively, interactive workshop full of music, folklore, fun and participation for everyone.

About Aileen
Aileen Lambert is a traditional singer, songwriter and educator from Co. Wexford. She has worked with children in schools for almost twenty years through the Heritage in Schools Scheme, including many visits to Scoil Mhuire in Ballymany. She is the author of The Frog and the Mouse – Traditional Songs for Children. Aileen’s workshops bring Ireland’s traditional songs, stories and folklore to life through singing, imagination and playful participation.
