The Last Viking

The Last Viking

About the event

Anker is sent to prison for his part in a bank robbery, but before he’s put away he manages to entrust his vulnerable brother Manfred with hiding his share of the heist money. 15 years later, Anker is released and wants to finally reclaim his loot. Manfred, however, has been diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder and is now convinced he’s John Lennon. He also appears to have no recollection of where he hid the money. Anker embarks on a hare-brained plan to restore his brother’s memory and recover the money.

The compelling and unpredictable new film from the director of Men & Chicken and Riders of Justice mixes absurdity, dark comedy and just the right dash of poignancy.

Reviews:

“Consistently entertaining, weird and ultimately touching… Mikkelsen’s perfectly balanced performance is the key to maintaining [the] tone of understanding and empathy.” - Caryn James, The Hollywood Reporter

“[Mads] Mikkelsen, bespectacled and with the worst perm in recent cinematic history, underplays his character’s condition, making audiences root for this grown-up version of a very hurt child.” - Boyd van Hoeij, Screen Daily
