Dublin’s newest and strangest museum, The Museum of Curiosities, is transformed into an immersive journey through the five senses unfolding across its five rooms. Downstairs, sight comes alive in darkened, projection-lit spaces that reveal the museum’s exhibits in unexpected ways, alongside Victorian viewing devices including stereoscopes and mutoscopes. Upstairs, live musical performances and interactive instruments, including a theremin, explore sound.
In the foyer, a scent-led perfumery designed to evoke memory, emotion and imagination invites visitors to explore smell, while a Victorian room heightens touch through mystery objects and unusual textures.
Finally, a former kitchen explores taste with preserved historical curiosities, including decades-old sweets and a centuries-old piece of cake, alongside a particularly stomach-churning performance art piece that will put even the strongest appetites to the test.
