Fresh from a sell-out performance of The Sound of Rodgers & Hammerstein in October 2026, The Niall Kinsella Orchestra returns to the National Concert Hall with stellar guest vocalists: Broadway and West End star Scarlett Strallen, and the UK’s leading jazz and swing-era vocalist Matt Ford. Crazy for Gershwin showcases the unforgettable songs that conquered Broadway and Hollywood and have become among the most enduring of the American Songbook.

Enjoy performances from hit Broadway musicals of the 1920s and 30s, including Oh, Kay! and Girl Crazy, alongside music from the silver screen in An American in Paris, Funny Face and Shall We Dance. From the toe-tapping ‘I Got Rhythm’ and ‘Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off’ to the timeless romance of ‘Embraceable You’ and ‘Someone to Watch Over Me’, this is the Gershwins at their most irresistible.

Scarlett Strallen is a two-time Olivier Award-nominated West End and Broadway star, known for leading roles in Mary Poppins, Singin’ in the Rain, A Chorus Line and Candide. She has performed with leading orchestras including the Boston Pops, Cleveland Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra and John Wilson Orchestra at the BBC Proms. Most recently, she sang Eliza Doolittle on Sinfonia of London’s acclaimed complete recording of My Fair Lady, conducted by John Wilson.

Matt Ford is the UK’s most experienced and in-demand Swing Era vocalist. A veteran of over 2,000 Big Band concerts, Matt has also performed regularly with the BBC Concert Orchestra, Hallé Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Northern Sinfonia, Philharmonia, John Wilson Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Scottish Symphony, RTÉ Concert Orchestra and National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland.

The Niall Kinsella Orchestra is Ireland’s newest professional orchestra specialising in classic musical theatre repertoire with style and authenticity, bringing together the finest freelance professional musicians. The orchestra has built a formidable reputation, performing concerts such as The Sound of Hollywood: The Best of MGM Musicals (2024), Get Happy! The Judy Garland Songbook (2025) Broadway Sound: The 1960s & 70s and The Sound of Rodgers & Hammerstein (2026).

Conductor Niall Kinsella has firmly established himself as one of Ireland’s most exciting, versatile, and sought-after musicians, known particularly for his vibrant interpretations of music from the Golden Age of Broadway and Hollywood. As well as regular concerts with his own orchestra, he has appeared as guest conductor with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and the Ulster Orchestra, with performances broadcast on RTÉ and BBC Radio.
