The Pure Drop – A Celebration of Traditional Irish Music

Immerse yourself in the soul of Ireland with The Pure Drop, a captivating new concert series showcasing the very essence of traditional Irish music. 

Started in October 2025 TSEAC, have been proud to feature special guest singers each month including: An unforgettable performance by two of the genre’s most revered masters – the legendary concertina virtuoso Noel Hill and the iconic fiddler Paddy Glackin – in a rare and intimate collaboration. Renowned fiddle player and singer Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh of Altan with her daughter, rising fiddle talent Nia Byrne, in a deeply personal and heartfelt musical journey and many more.

This month we are delighted to welcome 'The MacGabhann Family' who will take to the TSEAC stage as this month's Pure Drop special guests.

The MacGabhann family from Ashbourne, Co. Meath represents a vibrant living tradition of Irish music, rooted in community and family. At its heart is Antóin MacGabhann, a respected fiddle player and teacher, and Bernie Murphy Mhic Gabhann bringing step dancing from the renowned Clare/Dublin Murphy dancing tradition.Daughters Áine and Bernadette on fiddle, with Caitlín on concertina & dance, will perform solo & as a group, sharing their individual musical riches.Many recordings & televised performances are available of this family, but this is your opportunity to enjoy their music live in this intimate setting as part of our Pure Drop series.A special evening that reflects the shared musical language of family playing music shaped over years of playing together.
