WE LOVE AN ICON! The LGBTQ+ community and the celebrities we embrace

About the event

Join C’mere Til I Tell Ye for an evening of conversation, drag and celebration exploring the LGBTQ+ community’s love of icons, from Bosco to Cher.

Why do certain figures inspire such devotion? What makes someone a queer icon? And what can these connections tell us about identity, belonging and community?

Featuring drag performer Ariana Grindr, author, researcher and The Traitors participant Páraic Kerrigan, and ShoutOut Executive Director Ruadhán Ó Críodáin, the evening brings together a panel discussion, drag performance and plenty of opportunities to join the conversation. Hosted by content producer and writer Michael Peers.

Sunday 8 November 2026, 7.30–9pm at Drop Dead Twice.

Part of C’mere Til I Tell Ye, a Science Week festival exploring the science hiding in everyday life.
