Overview

Donabate boasts rich religious architecture and historical landmarks. St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, made from Portmarnock red brick, is famed for its Harry Clarke stained glass window. St Patrick’s Church of Ireland, built in 1758, features a 15th century medieval arched doorway and a Norman keep. The Cobbe family’s private pew and crypt add historical depth.

Newbridge House and Farm, an 18th century Georgian mansion, was Cobbe family owned for 200 years, providing insights into Georgian grandeur and Irish heritage.

In Portrane, visitors can explore Stella’s Tower, a 14th century castle ruin linked to Jonathan Swift’s companion. The peninsula also features two Martello Towers, with cliff walks and stunning views of the towers and Lambay Island.
