Lilian Steiner (Jodie Foster), a highly regarded American psychiatrist living in Paris, becomes unsettled by the mysterious death of her patient, Paula (Virginie Efira). Certain that Paula’s death was no accident, Lilian embarks on her own investigation, uncovering a web of secrets that grows increasingly complex. As suspicions mount, she wonders whether Paula’s resentful husband (Mathieu Amalric) or her troubled daughter could be responsible. 

Director Rebecca Zlotowski delivers an intelligent and captivating thriller that explores the many layers of Lilian’s psyche.
