Double Bill – ‘Back Home & ‘Grandad & Guinness’ – The Being Well: SoloSIRENs Festival 2026
Date: Wed 25 Nov – Thu 26 Nov
Location: Civic Theatre, Dublin

Two premiere pieces from local SoloSIRENs artists, a reading of ‘Moon Face’ by Michelle Henry and a performance of ‘It’s a Girl!’ by Neltah Chadamoyo. With humour, honesty and powerful, personal observation, these works ask what it means to be well in each body.
‘It’s a Girl!’
What happens when a woman finally comes face to face with the body part that has shaped her identity, but has always felt like a stranger?
Bold, intimate and wickedly funny, It’s a Girl! takes audiences on an unapologetic journey through vaginas, pleasure, power and the shame women are taught to carry. Moving between personal confession and social commentary, Neltah Chadamoyo questions why everyone talks about women’s bodies while so few women are encouraged to truly know their own.
Provocative, playful and deliciously uncomfortable, this solo performance breaks the silence surrounding the vagina and asks: who is really in charge, the woman, the vagina, or centuries of rules about what both should be?Come for the questions. Stay for the proposed Celebration of the Vagina!

“Moon Face”
A Work in Progress Showing
You’re 20 years old. Your immune system has lost the plot. The only thing that’s hot about you is your joints.
Pain is all day, everyday and hospital appointments become your social life. Everyone feels the urge to tell you about the herb their Nana takes that fixed all her problems. You can’t walk in the heels you want to wear. Medication changes the shape of your face. Most people don’t expect to meet adulthood and chronic illness in the same year.
Moon Face is about rheumatoid arthritis, navigating a bombardment of medical jargon and trying to feel sexy when all this chronic bullshit keeps killing the mood.
