Celebrate 10 years of discovery at the Fingal Festival of History, taking place from 26 September to 11 October 2026.

Explore a programme of 19 free events across Fingal’s libraries and heritage venues, with talks covering local, Irish and international history. Topics range from the disappearance of Agatha Christie and Ireland’s links with the American Revolution to the 1926 Census, Balbriggan Harbour and fascinating stories from Fingal’s past.

The programme also includes guided heritage tours in Clonsilla and Rush, while History at the Library Day in Swords explores Ireland’s historical links with Europe and the EU. All events are free, although advance booking is recommended.
