Global Solidarity Hub: Youth For Action

Global Solidarity Hub: Youth For Action

About the event

Global Solidarity Hub: Youth For Action is a free national event bringing together 100 young people aged 18–30 from across Ireland to explore some of today’s most pressing issues, including climate justice, human rights, disability inclusion, equality, ethical communications and active citizenship.

It is organised by the Global Solidarity Hub, a collaboration between Sightsavers Ireland, GOAL and Trócaire, in partnership with Black and Irish. The day is a space for young people to connect, share perspectives and explore their role in creating a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable world, with keynote talks, interactive discussions, workshops, performances and networking.

Highlights

  • Opening keynote by Aisling Maloney, youth advocate and policy leader.
  • Interactive World Café discussions with young changemakers: James Casserly, Sightsavers Ireland Equal World Youth Champion and accessibility advocate; Dafe Pessu Orugbo, award-winning artist, playwright and musician, best known as one half of Tebi Rex; and Mikey Cullen, award-winning Dublin poet, teacher, actor and spoken word artist.
  • A youth-led Open Space session facilitated by Leon Diop, founder of Black and Irish.
  • Workshops on campaigning, climate justice, disability inclusion and responsible communications.
