Playback - Station to Station

Playback - Station to Station

About the show

Playback are back with a new album tribute! This year they’re celebrating the 50th anniversary of David Bowie’s seminal masterpiece Station to Station, which bridged the worlds of krautrock, funk and soul in 1976 and paved the way for the New Wave to come. Expect plenty of theatrical flair and a dash of glitter as the band navigates classics like the title track, “Golden Years” and “TVC15”, before topping everything off with greatest hits encores like “Fame", Ashes to Ashes”, “Moonage Daydream” and “Heroes”.

Playback is an "album tribute" band. They cover classic rock albums from start to finish, rounding out their shows with some of the artist's greatest hits. They've performed at venues and festivals throughout the country, from the Ambassador and the Set Theatre to the Sugar Club and Roisin Dubh; headlined Dublin Bowie Festival several times; and performed multiple celebrated sets at All Together Now.  Their current projects are “Station to Station Turns 50” (David Bowie), “Still Don’t Make No Sense: The Music of "Stop Making Sense” (Talking Heads), and “Dylan Goes Electric: 1965-66” (Bob Dylan).
