The Clonsilla Heritage Festival
About the event
The Clonsilla Heritage Festival returns on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September 2026 for a weekend celebrating local history, heritage and community. Hosted by the Clonsilla & Porterstown Heritage Society, the festival features a varied programme of activities for all ages.
Visitors can enjoy willow weaving and children’s “Pooka Plants” crafts in the marquee, alongside Shackleton’s Proms featuring Craobh Sí Dhála Trad Band and Blanchardstown Brass Band. There will also be guided tours of Luttrellstown Glen, Deep Sinking on the Royal Canal and St Mary’s and St Mochta’s Churches.
At Clonsilla Hall, visitors can attend a talk and book signing on “Henry Luttrell, the Curse and Scourge of all Irishmen”. The weekend also offers barge trips along the Royal Canal and stand-up paddle-boarding, providing an opportunity to explore the area’s heritage and waterways in a unique way.
