The Promise Love Story Special Showcase Concert is going to be a spectacular evening of music, song and dance, brought to life with stunning computer-generated visuals.

Creator and Producer, Paul Redmond, said:

“The Promise Love Story was inspired by five love stories set in a turbulent period of Ireland’s history. It is a story about people — their loves, their loyalties, their losses, and the choices they made in difficult times.

“The original music is an essential part of telling that story, helping to bring the characters, emotions, and period to life.

“We want to bring the musical to a much wider audience and show that Irish love stories can have a resonance far beyond Ireland.

The musical is constructed on five interconnected love stories:

  1. A love made in heaven
  2. A love based on a lie
  3. Young romantic love
  4. Unrequited love and
  5. A love for one’s country and freedom.”

At the heart of the story is a promise made to a dying man. From that promise comes a chain of events reaching across generations, exploring how love can endure, how secrets can shape families and how forgiveness can become an expression of love.

The Promise Love Story is renowned for its unique original music, composed by Paul Redmond and provides the musical foundation for a story that combines romance, history, and the wider Irish experience. One of the songs, Across Blue Waters was inspired by the story of the Jeanie Johnston ship and the journeys of Irish emigrants across the Atlantic helping to form the Irish diaspora.

The Promise Love Story is ready to make its next journey, and people can be part of it, wherever they are.
