The Shape of Water

The Shape of Water

About the event

Join C’mere Til I Tell Ye and explorer and analogue Mars astronaut Niamh Shaw for a wild, funny, hands-on family adventure from polar ice to Mars.

How much water does it take to survive on Mars? Less than one elephant drinks in four days. That’s the kind of question Niamh has had to tackle while living on rationed water in a Mars simulator.

She’s also tracked penguins across the Antarctic and had a hungry polar bear swim towards her in the Arctic. Now she’s bringing her stories and discoveries to Science Week.

Watch ice melt in real time. Find out who copes better with the cold – you or a penguin. Try the blubber glove challenge and discover the animals whose survival tricks put ours to shame.

Along the way, hear real stories from the ice, the desert and a simulated Mars mission, told by someone who’s been there.

Big questions, brilliant facts and real adventure. Bring the kids and your sense of wonder!

Tickets: €5 per adult. Accompanying children go free.
