Veronica Dunne Bursary for Young Irish Singers

About the show

Friday 13th November 10am-1pm & 2.30pm-6pm
Saturday 14th November 7pm - 10pm

Short-listed competitors will perform in front of our esteemed jury in competition for a bursary fund of €10,000. First round performances will take place all day on Friday 13th November, where up to thirty competitors will be required to sing two contrasting operatic arias (roughly 10 mins per competitor). Our jury will then choose six competitors to compete in the second round on Saturday 14th at 19:00. The chosen six competitors will interview with the panel from 12:00 to 17:00, followed by rehearsal time before the final (not open to the public). The final round will again require our singers to perform two arias, after which the recipients of the €10,000 bursary fund will be announced.

About the bursary:
The aim of this bursary is to assist young singers in Ireland to develop their talents so they can flourish in their professional careers. This is the third Veronica Dunne Bursary for Young Irish Singers. In the words of the late Veronica Dunne at the Bursary’s launch in 2020:

"It has long been my cherished wish to create a bursary offering young singers the opportunity to develop their vocal and technical skills and enhance their career goals. Each bursary will be tailored to suit the individual needs of the successful applicant in a bespoke way. It is a marvellous legacy to be creating for our international stars of the future.”
