The Bookshelf with Ryan Tubridy

The Bookshelf with Ryan Tubridy

About the event

On his podcast The Bookshelf with Ryan Tubridy, the renowned broadcaster, author and book lover sits down with household names to discover the books that have influenced their lives. Every week, Ryan turns the pages of their life through the prism of three books: The childhood book, the book that brought them joy, and the book that changed their life.

This special live event invites you to pull up a chair beside one of Ireland’s most beloved broadcasters as you have never seen him before as he brings an interactive evening of stories, conversation - and, for one night only, the audience can ask the questions too!

Ryan also invites the whole family to a special festive Family Matinée, joined by comic book artist Will Sliney for an afternoon of live drawing, giveaways, book reviews and quizzes - perfect for children and grown-ups alike. Expect a magical mix of festive favourites and much-loved children's books, plus the chance for the audience, young readers included, to ask Ryan and his guest some questions.

Will Sliney is an Irish comic book artist, writer, and television presenter whose creative reach spans Marvel Comics, sports illustration, television, and, more recently, Hollywood. Best known for his work on Spider-Man 2099 and Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren, his contributions extend beyond comics, with collaborations including the Premier League, the launch of Marvel’s Twitch stream, and the development of The Shrouded College, an original universe set to be adapted for film.
