In-Gallery Evening Talk: The medieval bells of St Mary’s Abbey Howth: their history and donation to the National Museum.
Archaeologist and curator Sharon Weadick, will the discuss the history of the magnificent Howth bells that are displayed in the Rotunda. She will talk about the link between these rare late medieval bells and St Mary’s Church (Abbey) in Howth, Dublin and the St Lawrence Family, and their donation to the Museum and explain some of the conservation process, the display of the Howth bells and bell casting in medieval times.
No booking is required. Meet in the Reception. This talk will start in the Rotunda beside the display of the bells and continue in the Kildare Room. Wheelchair accessible.
