What to expect

Please be advised that due to Industrial Action, public tours and events may be cancelled. Please check this webpage for more updates on cancellations.

Join a special guided tour about the artefacts and shrines connected to Irish saints and how Christianity influenced the development of writing.

Join us to discover the artefacts associated with the patron saints of Ireland, St. Patrick, St. Brigid, and St. Colmcille, and see what archaeological evidence can tell us about the impact of Christianity to Ireland and which objects demonstrate the development of writing techniques. Take a look at other artefacts and relics connected to the many saints from Ireland in the Treasury exhibition, and learn about the incredible preservation of the Fadden More Psalter, and the impact of writing and scholarship in Early Medieval Ireland.

No booking required, places allocated on a first come first served basis. Meet in the Reception, on the ground floor. Partially wheelchair accessible. Children must be fully supervised by a parent or adult who is in loco parentis.

Please note that the majority of this tour will take place on the ground floor, with the option of continuing the tour to the first floor.
