Markievicz Park

Markievicz Park

Overview

Markievicz Park is a neighbourhood park in Ballyfermot on Dublin's Southside. It has a playground, soccer and GAA pitches, an all-weather football court, changing facilities and a picnic area.

It also has a native tree trail and a community sculpture made by local young people. The park is named after Countess Constance Markievicz.

Art and nature

The sculpture in the park was designed and made through the CANDLE workshops, which ran metalwork classes for local young people. They also made the park's gates when it was refurbished. The Markievicz Park Native Tree Trail can be downloaded in English or Irish from Dublin City Council's website.

Getting there

The park is on Decies Road, Dublin 10, in Ballyfermot. Dublin Bus routes serve Ballyfermot Road. Ballyfermot Library is nearby, and Le Fanu Park and Kylemore Park are a short walk west.
