Lisa O'Neill: Tones that are tender and Tones that are Gruff

Lisa O’Neill is a songwriter like no other. Her roots may be sourced in folk and traditional music but her work opens up a landscape beyond any settled sense of genre. For this once-off curated show, Lisa gathers together with fellow writers and composers as they perform their songs, explore their origins, share their stories.

Songwriter Lisa O’Neill is one of the most singular and exciting talents in Irish music today. Her latest release Heard A Long Gone Song has garnered huge acclaim both at home and abroad. The album see her set her remarkable incisive voice against impressionistic instrumental back-drops, like Margaret Barry colluding with the Dirty Three or some such meeting of minds. This evening at NCH promises more explorations.
