Ballyogan Library

Ballyogan Library

Overview

Ballyogan Library is the newest branch of dlr Libraries, opened in 2025 at the Samuel Beckett Civic Campus in Dublin 18. Spread over two bright floors, it combines books for all ages and plenty of study space with a dedicated teen area, a Cubbie sensory pod, a podcast studio and a children's maker room.

A library shaped by its community

The library covers 1,300 square metres over two floors, linked by a lift, with an outdoor area of its own. Local people were asked what they wanted before it was designed, and many of their suggestions made it into the building. It was the first library in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown with a dedicated sensory space, a teen area and a creative room, and everything on the shelves was new when it opened.

It is a welcoming place to study, read, relax or join a free event, from baby and toddler mornings to talks and workshops for adults.
