Drimnagh Castle

An authentic Drimnagh Castle, located in South Dublin, is the only remaining authenticcastle in Ireland, surrounded by a flooded moat. It consists of Great Hall, which was restored, medieval undercroft, a stable, a tall tower and some other buildings. Till 1954 it was one of the constantly inhabited castles in Ireland-it was attacked by the O’Toole Clan for years, records proof 2 of the Barnewall’s of Drimnagh were killed in Crumlin, not that far from the castle, and nobody knows how many more raids and attacks took place, so we can only guess.

Value to this Dublin attraction ads a beautiful Drimnagh Castle gardens, reminding 17th century layout, and the greenhouse and a lovely guide is very friendly ready to share with you the history and answer all your questions if you have. A medieval decor castle is an example of an old feudal stronghold.

Drimnagh Castle- is an attraction in Dublin for people, who like castles, want to explore old buildings and hear the history within castle walls.
