Dublinia

Dublinia is the Latin name for Dublin, so as the names suggests, this attraction is all about Dublin. Situated a step away from Christ Church, Dublinia is an attraction, where you meet the Vikings, look at Dublin from a new perspective and discover Dublin’s residents through the ages. Here you can get into the Vikings spirit: try on Viking clothes, become a slave, visit the Viking house, learn their alphabet and listen their literature.
Turn the clock back 700 years and discover what medieval Dublin was like: learn of warfare, death and disease, crime and punishments. See the medieval city, medieval street and dive into these times through sounds, smells and signs.
You can also see the medieval artifacts- a medieval woman and skeleton is one of them. Investigate Dublin’s first maps and figure out how Medieval times and the Vikings impacted today’s life.

St. Michael’s Tower in Dublinia

After discovering Viking and Medieval Dublin, remember you’re not done. Newly reconstructed St.Michale’s Tower back then belonged to St. Michael’s Church. Investigate an exhibition at the Tower base and get up the 95 steps to the very top, bringing you to St. Michael’s Tower viewing platform. The cut stone tower was built in 17th century and it provides you with the stunning Dublin views with the River Liffey and mountains in the background. Beautiful!

It’s the perfect all family day out idea, as kids of all ages love to get to know the past- to dress up and play medieval games, try on helmets and trace your name in Viking- it’s very engaging. We have to mention- it is very interactive, where kids and adults are allowed to touch and play with objects and exhibitions. Everything is done so well, that you actually feel part of the Viking or Medieval area. Get the taste of that time! A must to see place in Dublin with lots of history, fun and entertainment.

Tip: you can buy a combined ticket to Dublinia and Christ Church- and explore 2 attractions that are connected by bridge and save some euro.
