Geological Museum

If you want to learn science that deals with the history of the earth, see dinosaur’s egg, dinosaur bones and meteorites, then this is a place in Dublin for you to visit. The museum, found on the top floor of the Department of Geology in Trinity College, houses 80 000 specimens, collections dating back to 1777 and the mineral collections dating to 1820s. The mineral collections are made up both from Irish and foreign specimens, while the main palaeontological holdings include Irish Silurian and Carboniferous invertebrates, Mesozoic ostracods, and Upper Palaeozoic miospores.

Museum’s door is open for everyone no matter if you’re a student or from the general public.

Opening Times

Open Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm.
