River Liffey

Any Dubliner will tell you that there’s a rivalry between the north and south, from the different accents to which side has the better attractions. Splitting the two is the River Liffey, and acting as the perfect weaver between them are its various bridges. Walking along the banks aimlessly may feel like the ultimate tourist activity, but start before the sun begins to set and you’ll be joined by workers making their way home across the O’Connell and Ha’penny bridges, channelling their own inner tourist as they take in the gorgeous skyline of high buildings. Start by walking over O’Connell Bridge from the north side and continue west, zigzagging between the sides to decide for yourself – are you a north or south Dubliner?
