Moving Hearts and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra

For the first time live, experience the RTÉ Concert Orchestra with the iconic traditional rock group Moving Hearts.

The band’s line-up for the special St Patrick’s Day event will include a stellar roster of many of Ireland’s finest musicians: Donal Lunny – bouzouki, Davy Spillane – uilleann pipes and low whistles, Keith Donald – sax and bass clarinet, Eoghan O’Neill – bass, Noel Eccles – percussion, Anthony Drennan – guitars, Liam Bradley – drums, Graham Henderson – keyboards and Mick Hanly – vocals. They will join forces with the RTÉ CO and conductor Gavin Maloney to create an extraordinary alchemy.

When Moving Hearts and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra first came together for a special RTÉ Radio 1 St Patrick’s Day broadcast in 2020, this magical meeting had an immediate and powerful impact. It was hailed as superb, a brilliant combination, outrageously good, sensational listening, pure and utter joy, tonic for the troops, incredible and very emotional. One listener complained he couldn’t get out of the car because the music was too good! Now there is the chance to join them in person, going full tilt with the likes of McBrides, The Storm, Hiroshima Nagasaki Russian Roulette, Finore, Tribute to Peadar O’Donnell, An Phis Fhliuch and The Titanic.

The power and intricate arrangements Moving Hearts bring to their music combined with the wonderful musicianship of the RTÉ CO will be an exceptional experience for any audience. It’s hard to imagine a more thrilling, resonant, musically epic way to celebrate St Patrick’s Weekend!
